Creative Thinking Isn’t Always Easy—But It Can Change Everything
Reflections on Episodes 32–36 of the Newvision Oldways Podcast
Creative thinking sounds exciting—visionary, inspiring, even fun. But for many people, it doesn’t come easily. And if we’re being honest, it’s not because they’re not “creative people.” More often, it’s because life has handed them circumstances that make creativity feel like a luxury rather than a necessity.
In episodes 32 through 36 of the Newvision Oldways podcast, I took a deep dive into the world of creative thinking—what it is, how it works, and why it matters more than ever. This five-part series wasn’t just theoretical for me. It was personal.
When Life Gets in the Way of Creativity
I know what it’s like to feel creatively stuck. I’ve been there. Whether it was pressure to follow a more “practical” path, trauma that clouded my sense of possibility, or just the daily grind pulling my focus in a thousand directions—I’ve lived through seasons where creative thinking felt far away, almost unreachable.
And I know many of you have, too.
Our upbringing, jobs, responsibilities, and even the stories we’ve been told about ourselves can form invisible barriers to creativity. Maybe you’ve been told you’re not a creative person. Maybe survival has always come before imagination. Maybe fear of failure has kept you coloring inside the lines.
But here’s the truth: creative thinking isn’t reserved for artists or inventors. It’s for all of us. It’s a mindset that can unlock new possibilities, no matter your circumstances.
The Power of Creative Thinking (and What I Covered)
In this series, I explored practical tools and mental frameworks to help you reclaim your creativity—even if you’ve felt stuck for years. From divergent thinking and reframing problems, to creating space for playful experimentation, the series focused on shifting your mindset from limitation to possibility.
We talked about:
- How to break free from rigid thinking patterns
- Why risk and experimentation are essential to growth
- The importance of environment and community in sparking creativity
- How to use constraints as a launchpad, not a prison
- And most importantly, how creative thinking impacts every area of life—from relationships to work to personal healing
There Is Hope
I created this series because I’ve seen firsthand how creative thinking can reignite a life that feels dull or directionless. I’ve experienced the transformation myself—and I want that for you too.
You’re not broken if creativity doesn’t come easily. You’re human. And the good news is, these tools and ideas are available to you right now. Not in some perfect future, but today.
You don’t need perfect conditions to think creatively. You need courage, curiosity, and a little bit of guidance—and that’s exactly what I hope this series has offered.

Remember—creative thinking isn’t a luxury. It’s a lifeline. And it just might be the first step toward the version of your life you’ve been waiting for.
